Sadly, Moritou-sensei passed away in November of 2000 at the age of 56 from a heart failure. I am currently working on a special tribute page and later will continue working on translating the original magna series. More info will be posted on the Rocket Tubes soon. You can find some original manga pics on Arden's Microman Page. Micronauts Comics Art
![]() go to full size image This is a conceptual piece by Bob Hall from the early development of the Marvel comic series printed much later in issue 7 of Amazing Heroes Magazine accompanying an interview with Gil Kane and a story on how Bill Mantlo conceived the series. Note the closer resemblence of the characters to the toys...particularly Bug/Galactic Warrior, Rann/Space Glider, and Acroyear. Time Traveller also looks pretty close to the toy, but more divine (hard to see his details in this small image). ![]() This is a piece of original art I own of the climatic page 15 of issue #28 of the series, in which Acroyear takes on Baron Karza, eventually to lead Karza to his second defeat. The phenomenal pencils are by Pat Broderick, and the great inks are by Danny Bulanadi, who also signed the original for me when I bought it back in '82. The fine detail of the inking can only be appreciated on the original. I'm considering offering this incredible one-of-a-kind collectors item for auction, and while it's not officially up for bidding yet, I will entertain any early bids now, though bear in mind I am not selling it yet, and may reserve the right to cancel the auction entirely if I change my mind. Contact me for details if you are interested. The work is in good condition, only yellowed a little with age, and will look splendid in a matte and frame, as the panel contains an entire intense scene of the initial confrontation and unbroken dialogue. This is a must for fans of the comic, Acroyear, or Baron Karza. ![]() Rumiko Takahashi's "Urusei Yatsura" |
